AI agent evaluation services
Evaluate the outcome—not just the model response.
AI agent evaluation measures whether an agent completes the intended task across its full trajectory: interpretation, reasoning, tool use, system changes, final response and recovery from failure.
WHO THIS IS FOR / 01
The buyer and the decision.
For leaders evaluating voice, chat or workflow agents whose quality cannot be represented by one model score or a review of the final message alone.
An agent can produce a convincing answer after calling the wrong tool, using stale information or leaving the system in the wrong state. Final-response grading misses trajectory failures; trace-only evaluation misses whether the result made sense to a real user. Release decisions require both.
THE WORK / 02
A clear handoff.
A complete test.
You bring the agent, its intended outcome and the evidence needed to verify it. RigorIndex designs and runs the evaluation independently.
- 01Defines an outcome-led rubric for the complete agent trajectory
- 02Designs scenarios around consequential tasks and known risk areas
- 03Combines deterministic verification with calibrated expert review
- 04Returns a scored decision with evidence tied to each material failure
TWO LAYERS OF EVIDENCE / 03
Facts first.
Judgment where it matters.
Objective checks determine what happened. Calibrated people judge the qualities a deterministic rule cannot settle. The report keeps those evidence types separate.
Outcome usefulness
Whether the final result actually solves the user’s problem in the context of the domain.
Decision quality
Whether the agent’s choices were reasonable where rules alone do not determine one correct path.
Failure recovery
Whether the agent recognizes a problem, asks for what it needs and recovers without compounding the error.
Tool execution
Correct tool, inputs, output, error handling and any changes made to the underlying system.
Trajectory requirements
Required steps, prohibited steps, permissions, disclosures and escalation events.
End state
Task completion, record accuracy, latency and whether the expected final state is present.
RELEVANT METRICS / 04
Measure the outcome the agent owns.
End-to-end task success
Did the whole trajectory produce the intended result?
Tool success
Were the right tools called with correct inputs?
State accuracy
Does the system record match the user-visible outcome?
Policy compliance
Were required and prohibited actions handled correctly?
Recovery rate
Could the agent resolve tool or interaction failures?
Severity distribution
How much risk sits in critical, high and lower failures?
The final score weights the metrics and severity thresholds agreed for the tested workflow. Every report also states evaluator agreement or evaluation accuracy.
FAILURE FILE / 05
Representative trajectory failureILLUSTRATIVENOT A CLIENT RESULT
The agent promises an action the tool never completed.
- SCENARIO
- A workflow agent submits a customer change. The tool times out, but the agent interprets an intermediate response as success and confirms completion.
- OBSERVED
- The final response reads well. Trace and system-state checks show that no change occurred and the agent did not retry or escalate.
- WHY IT MATTERS
- A response-only evaluator passes the interaction while the business outcome remains incomplete.
ENGAGEMENT / 06
Start with a bounded readiness audit.
We begin with a bounded agent workflow, define the outcome, and test the full trajectory through 1,000+ difficult scenarios.
